Mark Buss provides consulting services to the new construction and durable goods industries with extensive background in B2C and B2B markets. His specialties include customer experience (CX) improvement, branding, market research, building online presence, and product development.
Mark has extensive executive experience leading success for corporations that include Jenn-Air, Maytag, Philips Consumer Electronics, Randstad and Rinnai. He served as General Manager of Randstad’s HR Outsourcing division, growing it from $65M to $110M through the Great Recession and helping it succesfully navigate independent contractor employment changes to comply with changes in tax law. He also served as General Manager of $800M Cooking Products division for Maytag, responsibilities included a manufacturing plant with over 1200 sku’s which increased gross margin through sku optimization and lean manufacturing principals.
At Maytag, he developed expertise in driving innovation based on identifying key emotional consumer insights launching Maytag’s Gemini Range, “Two Ovens in One” and at Philips he lead the release of Philips Flat Panel TV, eliminating the big box eyesore in home decor and Philips DVD Recorder. Each increasing average sale price in stagnant product categories.
Putting corporate experience to personal use, Mark started a small business in 2013 growing it to $1M in the Indianapolis market. Developing skills in B2B direct marketing to large local property management companies and key automotive dealerships and B2C expertise in understanding, managing and growing consumer demand via Google Local Services.
Mark holds a BS in Business Administration with a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. His early career focused on market research, consumer research and demand planning utilizing his analytical skills. In addition, Mark earned an MBA from Drake University in Des Moines IA.
